    O símbolo tradicional do hexagrama que consiste de dois triângulos entrelaçados representa o unindo dos opostos, simbolizados pela o Macrocosmo ▲ e o Microcosmo ▼, então nós reforçam a relação unificada de todos os opostos, como a Terra e os Céus e, mais especificamente, todos os aspectos, elementos, ou partes do Universo com a Luz Primordial. A.L.P. Notes on The Ritual of the Hexagram

    In our esoteric schools, traditionally, after the Ritual of the Pentagram has been practiced for some time and the student has experience in influencing the elemental world of the Sphere of Earth and all this implies, we are introduced to the Ritual of the Hexagram and the influence of the Celestial Bodies.

    The traditional symbol of hexagram consisting of two interwoven triangles represents the uniting of the opposites, symbolized by the Macrocosm ▲ and the Microcosm ▼, so we are reinforcing the unified relationship of all opposites as the Earth and the Heavens and, more specifically, all the aspects, elements, or parts of the Universe with the Primordial Light. This is an especially important concept as we ascend the Tree of Life and approach the Sphere of the Living Self and the Heart Chakra, where all forms in the Universe are connected as One Soul.

    The concept of the Ritual of the Hexagram is to see the Universe as a Unity by combining the Macrocosm and the Microcosm and also combining the planets as one Unity. The Golden Dawn sealed this act with the word :

“ARARITA” = ( A R - A R I - T A ) = ( a r – a r y – t a )

which is a seven lettered anagram for the Hebrew sentence which means “One is His Beginning: One is His Individuality: His Permutation is One ”.

    In the spirit of The Abrahadabra Laboratory of Reaserch tradition of updating our rituals for ourselves and our targeted audience of students, we have developed a seven syllable anagram derived from the seven planets attributed to the Hexagram. This word is :

“ Sajuma-Sol-Vemelu ”, = ( g f e - a - d c b )

the beginning of which represents the planets of Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars ( above the sphere of the Self on the Tree of Life ), the central section of the word represents the Sun ( In the Center of the Tree ), and the end of the word represents Venus, Mercury, and Lua, ( Below the sphere of the Self on the Tree ). This infers and thus creates a current of energy from the Primal Light at the top to the Earth at the base in a unified motion, thus achieving the same formula as the Old Aeon word but with an updated formula based on our Latin languages and a more comprehensive illustration of the Tree of Life of which it is representative.

    In this ritual using the Unicursal Hexagram we invoke the seven planets attributed to the star, from Lua to Saturn, moving up the Tree and finish with The Sun to Unify the whole. We also repeat the word “Sajuma-Sol-Vemalu” seven times and unify the whole operation with The L.V.X. signs to create an explosion of astral light and seal with one “Abrahadabra”.

    After the “Abrahadabra” facing East, To concentrate a meditation on a specific Sphere, Planet, or Astrological Sign one can add an additional repetition of the invoking hexagram of the Planet corresponding to that meditation. The symbol of the Planet is replaced by the symbol of the Astrological Sign when invoking the Zodiac.

In The Abrahadabra Laborarory of Research The L.V.X. signs are used to visualize the radiation of The Primordial Light. Annalists of this formula can be found in many places. RULE ONE
The Solar Angel collects himself, scatters not his force, but, in meditation deep, communicates with his reflection.

RULE TWO
When the shadow hath responded, in meditation deep the work proceedeth.  The lower light is thrown upward; the greater light illuminates the three, and the work of the four proceedeth.

RULE THREE
The Energy circulates.  The point of light, the product of the labours of the four, waxeth and groweth.  The myriads gather round its glowing warmth until its light recedes.  Its fire grows dim. Then shall the second sound go forth.

RULE FOUR
Sound, light, vibration, and the form blend and merge, and thus the work is one.  It proceedeth under the law, and naught can hinder now the work from going forward.  The man breathes deeply.  He concentrates his forces, and drives the thought-form from him.

RULE FIVE
Three things engage the Solar Angel before the sheath created passes downward; the condition of the waters, the safety of the  one who thus creates, and steady contemplation.  Thus are the heart, the throat, and eye, allied for triple service.

RULE SIX
The devas of the lower four feel the force when the eye opens; they are driven forth and lose their master.

RULE SEVEN
The dual forces of the plane whereon the vital power must be sought are seen; the two paths face the solar Angel; the poles vibrate.  A choice confronts the one who meditates.

RULE EIGHT
The Agnisuryans respond to the sound.  The waters ebb and flow.  Let the magician guard himself from drowning at the point where land and water meet.  The midway spot, which is neither dry nor wet, must provide the standing place whereon his feet are set.  When water, land and air meet, there is the place for magic to be wrought.

RULE NINE
Condensation next ensues.  The fire and waters meet, the form swells and grows.  Let the magician set his form upon the proper path.

RULE TEN
As the waters bathe the form created, they are absorbed and used.  The form increases in its strength; let the magician thus continue until the work suffices.  Let the outer builders cease their labors then, and let the inner workers enter on their cycle.

RULE ELEVEN
Three things the worker with the law must now accomplish.  First, ascertain the formula which will confine the lives within the ensphering wall; next, pronounce the words which will tell them what to do and where to carry [xiv] that which has been made; and finally, utter forth the mystic phrase which will save him from their work.

RULE TWELVE
The web pulsates.  It contracts and expands.  Let the magician seize the midway point and thus release those "prisoners of the planet" whose note is right and justly tuned to that which must be made.

RULE THIRTEEN
The magician must recognize the four; note in his work the shade of violet they evidence, and thus construct the shadow.  When this is so, the shadow clothes itself, and the four become the seven.

RULE FOURTEEN
The sound swells out.  The hour of danger to the soul courageous draweth near.  The waters have not hurt the white creator and naught could drown nor drench him.  Danger from fire and flame menaces now, and dimly yet the rising smoke is seen.  Let him again, after the cycle of peace, call on the solar Angel.

Ritual can be simply described as Multidimensional Kinetic Meditation. All meditation is multidimensional and usually in motion, but Ritual or Ceremony specifically uses a three-dimensional format as well as penetration into the subtler dimensions. Motion or Time is also an important component in any ceremony.

Magick is defined as “ Causing change in conformity with will.” Beings with development beyond what is common now have no need for ritual in ordinary circumstances. Guatama Buddah, the teacher we call Jesus of Nazareth, Saint Germain, Merlin and others manifest their wills automatically because their mind is in balance with the reality of universal conditions. The mind of the common person in this time period, on the other hand, exists in a condition that is not in balance with reality. Their belief systems are based on false assumptions. For this reason the system of repetitive ritual meditations has been developed to teach and condition our minds and bodies the truth about universal conditions and to permit our spiritual will to bypass our mental blocks and manifest freely.

Beginning magicians commonly use ritual for many years to condition their minds and astral bodies to accept reality and manifest their wills, overcoming ancient wrong conditioning, subconscious wrong beliefs, karmic patterns, and emotional tendencies.

All successful religions also use this technique to format the minds of people. Colleges and business institutions also have ritualistic schedules to there conditioning processes.

The Occidental societies have found use for ritual more than in the orient. This is because The people of the west have more active mental and emotional bodies than that of the ancient east. It is much more difficult for the western students to meditate and calm their minds. Thus we have developed the active meditation of ritual.

Using a well constructed, simple but dynamic ritual, understood by the practitioner, can focus the mind on a desired effect like a laser beam extending forward in space and time. Repetition of a specific ritual (freeing the practitioner if the burden of contemplating what to do) enables the mind to focus on the outcome with strength and confidence. Crowley said that a ritual is difficult the first one hundred times but becomes easy the next one hundred times.

Students generally practice older traditional and recommended rituals for a few years to condition the mind and bodies to creating forms, directing energy, and generally becoming familiar with the concepts of ritual and controlling the mind. After a strong training period the student will gain confidence and desire to create personalized rituals that conform to their own natures and dharma. This is to be encouraged as all mature magicians create their own rituals for themselves. Personally designed rituals function more efficiently and dynamically than the generic rituals designed for training.

Each Magician is a unique soul and sees the universe from a slightly different angle than all other souls, and thus has a unique philosophy and magickal style. So as maturity progresses so also does the unique quality each souls magick.

Appendix A : Basic Ritual Techniques

Rituals are designed to create specific thought forms that will radiate through space and time and help collapse possibilities into manifestation . For this reason, it is important to have a calm clear mental and emotional body when beginning and during the performance of the ritual so that no distracting or emotions or thoughts interfere with the creation of your chosen thought form. These would weaken and mutate your thought form into undesirable desirable directions. The student should meditate to calm the mind and emotions and then meditate strongly on the outcome of the ritual (The desired thought form). Most students begin to prepare for each ritual days, weeks , or months before the actual ritual.

Some extreme rituals, such as The Knowledge and Conversation with Your Holy Guardian Angel or The Enochian Spirit Interactions, require years of preparation and meditation, while a common banishing of unhealthy energies will only require a few hours or even minutes of preparation.

Cleansing the body and ritual space is a common practice to eliminate unwanted energies and to show yourself respect for the operation and energies involved. Water or salt has been found to work well to psychically cleans an area, then a fiery thought form can be used for deeper purification.

In contrast a candle flame or large fire is useful for dedication of an object or person like burning a brand into it and then using a watery thought form to saturate the object more thoroughly with the desired energy.

So you can see that actual ritual technique can vary to a large degree with each students preference.

A physical or psychic circle is commonly used to create a working area separate from the chaos of the world.

Visualizations help to create thought forms so other geometric shapes are also used to program the mind with complex concepts. A Cross is often used to balance the vital, mental, and spiritual bodies. Pentagrams and Hexagrams are often used to control other psychic and spiritual currents. A laser beam type Line issuing from your heart or head onto an object is a useful method of applying force or influence onto the object.
